Biodiversity Projects

The students did a fabulous job on their biodiversity projects.  The presentations were both interesting and creative and kept us entertained.  Here are a sample of some of the amazing work they did. 

Halloween Veggies

In the spirit of Halloween coming up.....make sure to eat your veggies.

Mountsberg Summary

We had an awesome day at Mountsberg today and really lucked into some great weather.  Here are some pictures and fun facts that we learned today.....



Snakes can fly
Snakes can be 25 feet
Owls heads rotate 270 degree
Owls have 3 eyelids
Owls puke remains of animals into pellets and can even eat skunks
No snake is poisonous....some are venomous.





We also measured our "wing" span and found out that we are all Turkey Vultures.

The Golden Eagle and Bald Eagle were very majestic birds.  They kept staring at us.








We were able to touch the snakes and owl wings and legs and went on a hike through the birds of prey exhibit.


We also got to meet the two Owls - Alba Alba and Echo from the story Featherwagons and Thingamajigs that we read.

Literature Circles

  Students have received their literature circle books and have started reading them.  We will be meeting next week to discuss the books and analyse their main idea.  Adults....feel free to ask your kids about what they are reading and their opinion of the book so far.

OCt 22 - 26th reminders

1. Just a note that Pizza lunches will be on FRIDAY this week because of our Mountsberg trip on thursday.  Remember to bring a lunch with you on the trip. 

2. Please wear Blue and White to Zoink'd on Wednesday.

3. Parents welcome to attend mass on Tuesday morning at church.

4. Book orders are due this week.

5. Dance-a-thon sheets are due this week.

6. Science projects are due Monday - presentations will be all this week and next. Be Ready!

ZOINK'D - Wed Oct 24th

We have a great opportunity to watch a live taping of the YTV show Zoink'd.  Please fill out all 3 forms and return them by Monday.  The students are very excited for this trip.  Please wear blue/white or the MT gym shirt the day of the trip.



We had so much fun at Zoink'd.  Make sure to watch the taping of the show as some of our MT friends made it on TV.

Halloween

We are getting ready for Halloween.  BOO! 

Geometry Unit

We are starting our new math unit on Geometry.  Please bring in a protractor and compass to use during this unit.  Students will be measuring and constructing different figures.
